Classroom Rules and Consequences
Bistro 7 Class Rules
Citizenship Grade and Weekly Evaluations
Every Friday, your child will bring home a weekly ledger which will show how your child’s behavior and work habits have been during the previous week. You will be notified the same day when an issue in work habits or behavior occurs. We use a classroom cash economy where students earn scholar dollars for doing a job in class or exhibiting desired behaviors. When students misbehave, they are fined. (Some offenses, such as fighting, lying, stealing, and extreme disrespect automatically are given no tolerance; involved students are sent to the office).
Consequences for Misbehavior:
1st: Verbal Warning
2nd: $10 fine
3rd: $15 fine, removal from group (sit alone) and Note Home
4th: Removal from class (work alone in another classroom or in the office) and Note Home; parent conference may be requested
Note: Repeated and consistent offenses will follow the school-wide discipline plan and can result in a parent conference to develop a Behavior Support Plan (BSP), referral to the guidance counselor, referral to the principal, suspension, or even expulsion. Behaviors of students who continually disrupt and interfere with the learning process will not be tolerated.
Citizenship grades are assigned based on the my general assessment of the student's behavior and how many infractions I have recorded for a that student.
Effort Grade
I also assess whether students are maintaining good work habits by tracking any missing or incomplete assignments for both homework and classwork. Students are fined one scholar dollar for each missing or incomplete homework (HW) or classwork (CW) assignment, and each time the child is not prepared for class with appropriate materials. At the end of the week, I give an effort grade to each child based on the key below:
Effort Grade Key:
E= - 0 assignments
V= - 1 assignments
S= - 2 assignments
N= - 3 assignments
U= - 4 or more assignments
IMPORTANT: PARENTS, PLEASE SIGN WEEKLY LEDGER on Friday and RETURN IT on Monday!!
The ledgers are my way of ensuring that you know what’s happening with your child in class, both academically and behaviorally.
- I will be a good friend.
- I will be a good helper.
- I will be a good listener.
- I will not give up.
